Infectious feel good rock music by people who are slightly insane.
Your parents won't let you listen to them.
A musical kick in the face.
A band possessed by demons. while having an exorcism performed by the Pope. (...too far?)
Justin Covergeist's latest record "Zombies, Vampires and Taylor Swift" is exactly that, undead, blood-thirsty and... sweet. Songs like "Zombie Man" and "The Cool Kids" have an upbeat punk sound reminiscent of the Ramones and the Misfits, while "Vampire Bloodbank" has more of a Sublime feel, and there are even a few sweet ole-country love songs like the last track, my favorite, "F#$% Em' And Leave Em'".
Put all these styles into a blender, sugar, spice, throw in some horror and humor, add a 750mL of Jack Daniel's and few black leather-jackets, and you got one tasty Rock & Roll record. When asked how to describe their sound, Justin Covergeist revealed, "We have a ton of influences, from Nirvana, Sublime, Led Zeppelin, the Beatles, A Tribe Called Quest, and Jurassic 5... to many to name. Good music is good music, and I appreciate listening to genuine sounds. Right now however, I've got a lot of tunes on my iPod from artists on our new label, Household Names. Folk Singers like Erin Rae, Rock Bands like the 1-10's and even Eclectic Hip-Hop from Jo'shua Odine and Bobby Exodus."
You can already hear the Colorado Underground rumbling with fanaticism over Colorado's Next Big-Thing, as these youthful Veterans of Nashville's Music Row make their new home in Colorado. Justin Covergeist says "I'm glad to be here, this place is a breath of fresh air, and the Mountains are Majestic... We've got a new record on iTunes, a ton of great shows lined up, and even some label interest, but most of all I look forward to playing some great music while I still got time on this Earth."
